I first met Sarah and Corbin in the fall of 2021. Sarah and I followed each other on Instagram and I reached out to see if they'd be willing to do a shoot with me. I had an idea in mind and thought they would be perfect for it.

We immediately clicked and I knew we would become friends. The following year, Corbin reached out to me about shooting his brother's proposal, so the three of us got to scheme and make his brother's proposal come to life. Sarah and Corbin ended up moving back up to Northern California, but Sarah always said that she wanted me to shoot their engagement when the time came.

That brings us to December of 2023. Corbin had the ring and a plan. They were coming down to Orange County for a weekend getaway and he asked if I'd be available to shoot it and help him come up with a spot. Of course, yes.

Shooting a proposal anywhere in Orange County or at most beaches is tricky. There are almost always going to be people around or in the background. But luckily, one of my best friends was house-sitting for a family in Newport that had access to a private beach. Corbin and Sarah’s friends set up the spot with flowers and champagne waiting for them. These moments are always so special for me because I get to be the first person they celebrate with while I get to capture the moment as it unfolds.

And now I get the honor of shooting their wedding in LA next June.
